“Keeping the flag high” was the theme of the 3rd virtual meeting of the Alumni Association of the OPCW Associate Programme, organized by the Technical Secretariat through Facebook from 18 to 25 November 2015.
The meeting engaged 50 alumni participants in dynamic discussions on how to continue ensuring the utmost relevance of the curriculum of the Associate Programme and further enhance the Programme’s impact, as well as on how to further strengthen the Alumni network.
The meeting generated 12 recommendations including concrete proposals for innovative topics to be included in the Associate Programme’s curriculum, and further commitment to education and outreach activities undertaken by the Alumni to promote the objectives of the Chemical Weapons Convention.
The outcome of the meeting was highly appreciated by all participants. Dr Oladipupo Ogunleye of Nigeria, 2014 Alumnus, commented during the closing session that “These recommendations will enhance the effectiveness of the Associate Programme, make the alumni of the AP more relevant to their various National Authorities and at the same time ensure the homogeneity of knowledge of Alumni across the globe”
