The Organisation for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons (OPCW) will be opening its doors to the general public on Sunday, 20 September 2015 between 11.00 and 17.00, as part of the International Day organised by The Hague Municipality.
The programme of the day will include tours and presentations covering the work of the Organisation. Visitors will have the opportunity to learn how the international community has organised its effort, through the OPCW, to rid the world from the scourge of chemical weapons. The success of this endeavour won for the Organisation the 2013 Nobel Peace Prize, which will be on display. Interactive presentations by the OPCW inspectors and equipment specialists will illustrate a major international treaty in action in the service of peace. There will be screenings of documentaries from the OPCW Fires series throughout the day.
