The Minister of Foreign Affairs of Bangladesh, H.E. Mr A. H. Mahmood Ali, visited the OPCW on 16 April 2015 and met with the Director-General, Ambassador Ahmet Üzümcü.
The Director-General and the Foreign Minister discussed implementation of the Convention in the Asian region. Ambassador Üzümcü also updated the Minister on progress in the OPCW’s mission to eliminate the chemical weapons programme of the Syrian Arab Republic.
Minister Ali reiterated Bangladesh’s firm commitment to the global ban on chemical weapons and expressed strong support for the OPCW and its work in implementing the Chemical Weapons Convention.
