The OPCW and the Government of Ukraine co-organised the Second International Course on Emergency Medical Assistance to Victims of Chemical Incidents or Attacks in Kiev from 20 to 24 May 2013.
The course was held at the Ukrainian Scientific and Practical Centre of Emergency Medical and Disaster Medicine and was attended by medical specialists from 14 States Parties in four regions.*
The course provided the participants with knowledge needed to treat victims of chemical incidents both in the field and at a place of definitive healthcare. The agenda included types and characteristics of toxic chemicals, principles of protection, medical countermeasures and emergency medical assistance at mass casualty incidents.
