Establishing interactive communication and cooperation mechanisms among National Authorities and between National Authorities and the OPCW.
The annual meetings contribute to the creation of global, regional, and sub-regional networks in support of the implementation of the Chemical Weapons Convention and provide the opportunities to discuss and address specific issues and needs of capacity building support.
The meetings also serve as important forums to hold bilateral meetings with the OPCW’s Technical Secretariat.
Objectives
- Provide an occasion for National Authorities to highlight and work through relevant issues in order to enhance their capacity to comply with their obligations under the Convention.
- Promote cooperation among National Authorities in order to further the implementation of the Convention at the regional level.
- Promote cooperation among States Parties and between States Parties and the Secretariat.
26th Annual Meeting of National Authorities
The 26th Annual Meeting of National Authorities will take place on 20-22 November, 2024, in The Hague.
Registration
To receive an access badge for entry to the OPCW premises, individuals may either attend the pre-registration on 19 November 2024 from 14:00 to 17:30 or the registration on 20 November 2024 from 08:30 to 09:30. Due to the high number of participants, pre-registration is strongly encouraged.
