The Global Conference on the Role of Artificial Intelligence in Advancing the Implementation of the Chemical Weapons Convention (CWC) will bring together scientists, industry, and policymakers to examine challenges and opportunities posed by Artificial Intelligence (AI) in chemical disarmament and non-proliferation.

Attending

Individuals interested in attending the Conference must be nominated by an OPCW Member State. Only applications endorsed by the respective CWC National Authority or Permanent Representation to the OPCW will be considered.

Nominated participants must have a professional background in one of the following fields:

  • background in or affiliation with AI, machine learning, deep learning, or related technologies;
  • experience in dealing with affairs related to chemical safety, chemical security, or the non-proliferation of chemical weapons; and
  • an interdisciplinary background covering the scientific, technological, and regulatory fields.

Costs

There is no conference attendance fee, however travel, accommodation, and associated costs must be self-funded. The OPCW will not be providing financial assistance to participants to attend the Conference.

Media accreditation

The media accreditation process is managed by the Government of the Kingdom of Morocco. Media interested in attending the Conference are required completed a Journalists’ Accreditation form.
